Project Background

When constructing a new environmental center inside of Frick Park, the Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy selected Colin Carrier, and his London Pattern studio, to design and construct two massive, tree-shaped gates as well as metalwork for a gatehouse drawing on themes of nature. It was critical that this project was completed as environmentally-friendly as possible. To acheive these goals, Colin worked with suppliers to ensure all materials were locally sourced.
